File Format Compatibility
When you purchase titles that offer both EPUB and MOBI formats:
- EPUB: Compatible with Kindle Paperwhite 5th generation and newer models
- MOBI: Compatible with all Kindle models, including older devices
For optimal compatibility with older Kindle devices, select the MOBI format when available.
Important Note Regarding Cover Art
Please be aware that cover artwork may not display correctly in your library view immediately after sideloading. The cover image typically appears only after you open the book for the first time. This is normal behavior for sideloaded content and does not indicate any issues with the file transfer process.
Additional Considerations
- Methods 1 and 3 allow for cross-device synchronization of reading progress
- Files sent via Methods 1 and 3 are automatically backed up to your Amazon cloud library
- The Send to Kindle website supports multiple file formats and batch uploads
- Ensure your email address is registered with your Amazon account for Method 1 to function properly
